As a pencil collector who checked out every office-supply and stationery store he could find, I sometimes fantasized about living in earlier times and gathering up every variety of pencil, including packaging. There’s a store in Grant’s Pass, Oregon, that I would have gone out of my way to visit —

I too fantasize about being 10 again, and buying every pencil variety I can find . I have just started collecting, or paying attention to the many pencils laying around here. I ‘ve always had a thing for them, just became aware of it when I heard about the Blackwing and started finding wonderful sites like yours. How do you keep your pencils? Right now mine are in cigar boxes and a display table for the special ones. There are so many ways to go with a pencil collection, its mind boggling! I am starting with brand names and special ferrules.

Glad you are have gotten into collecting pencils and are enjoying my site.
My pencils are organized by company or special attributes. Sadly, most are kept in boxes in larger boxes in a storage room packed with many similar boxes. My “Nostalgia” post shows my first display, and I never got beyond that until I created this blog. Hopefully you will do a better job. Just please don’t use glue or tape.

Hi, your blog is one of the very first blogs that I follow because of your comprehensive collection. There were days when I went hiatus in my collection because the pencils sold in my place did not seem attractive to me. But then few years later, when I gol a bit older and realized that I was not the only one who is passionate with pencil collection, so I decided to revived my collection and I have started a blog solely dedicated for my pencils. I too have been active now with my collection and have engaged for the very first time in pencil swapping from a collector I met through instagram. It is so heartwarming to get to know people who have similar interest and passion as yours. It is so fulfilling.
